Greg Ward is a Principal of Research Engagement Operations for Premier Applied Sciences®, the research and analytics division of Premier. As a long-time Premier employee with more than 30 years of experience in healthcare consulting and research operations, Ward persistently recruits and engages research sites and participants, including hospitals, physician practices and individual providers. Ward is a skilled relationship builder with a record of outstanding customer service and long-term retention of study participants. He establishes best practices for research design, operations and reporting and uses those processes to help set up the research operations teams for success. Previously, as an embedded management engineer in Premier member hospitals and as a corporate performance improvement engineer, he improved quality and operational effectiveness for hospitals across the country. As an independent business consultant, he married the same engineering concepts with customer retention principles to assist organizations from Fortune 500 companies to small local shops grow faster by building customer loyalty. Ward’s research interests include patient care and treatment innovations through new technology research and exploring how Premier Applied Sciences can continue to make clinical trials more effective and efficient. Ward earned his bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Purdue University and MBA from the University of South Carolina. He also completed a Certificate of Advanced Study in Health Informatics from the University of Illinois at Chicago and is both TQM/QI and Lean certified.
