Principal Research Scientist

Dr. Laura Schott is a Principal Research Scientist for PINC AI Applied Research®. She has a strong background in prospective and retrospective studies of mental health and women’s health. She comes to Premier with more than 30 years of research experience in academia, industry and government, including health outcomes studies, longitudinal observational research and randomized controlled trials. Before joining Premier, she served as an epidemiologist for a multinational biopharmaceutical company. Prior to this role, Dr. Schott held multiple research and administrative positions during her 19 years at the University of Pittsburgh including Project Manager, Senior Analyst, Publication Coordinator and Research Associate. During her time at the University of Pittsburgh, she received funding support from the National Institute of Aging, National Institute of Nursing Research, National Institute of Health Office of Research on Women’s Heath and the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute. She previously worked as a Co-Investigator studying a specialized acute care inpatient unit for elders at a community hospital and as a Research Assistant at the National Institute of Mental Health.  Over her career, Dr. Schott has captured data, analyzed results and summarized methodology as well as composed and edited protocols, study manuals, literature reviews and research reports. She has worked with a variety of therapeutic areas such as depression, anxiety, hyperactivity, osteoporosis, menopause, geriatrics and subclinical cardiovascular disease. She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in communications from The Ohio State University. She earned her master’s degree in psychology at American University and has a doctorate in epidemiology from University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Schott has co-authored over 60 peer-reviewed manuscripts and professional conference abstracts, and her work has been presented at national and international meetings.
